Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Grace, mercy, and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. You are receiving this letter because of your current and past participation in the National Hispanic Convention of LCMS Hispanic ministries. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve you as board members of the convention and of the Hispanic Missionary League since our election in 2022.
Today, we are writing to share an important update. Our president, Juan Zamora, due to personal circumstances, has announced his inability to continue serving in his role as president. We are sorry for his need to step down, and we are ever thankful for his years of faithful service and leadership.
With this change, our vice president, Rev. Stephen Heimer, has moved into the role of president. We are working together as a board in carrying out the tasks necessary in this change in leadership. Also, preparations for our time together at the convention next summer are well underway. Together we will celebrate 100 years of LCMS Hispanic ministry in the United States. Please visit www.hispanoslcms.com to learn more details and submit your RSVP.
We praise God for you and for all your service to the Lord in your homes, churches, and communities. It is a blessing to walk together as brothers and sisters in Christ, as congregations of the LCMS, and as colleagues in the National Hispanic Convention.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Rev. Stephen Heimer, acting president
Deac. Erica Jofre, secretary
Deac. Perla Gil de Rodriguez, treasurer
Rev. Rodrigo Fernandez, member at large
